A.C.S. Food Pantry - Exciting news.  At our August Board meeting, we voted to extend the hours of our present pantry food distribution  hours.  Now we will be open the 2nd Thursday of the month  from 1:00pm to 3:00pm we will operate the drive through pantry as we do now and then from 4:00 to 6:00pm the clients will come into the church to sign in and receive their food.  This has several advantages:

1. It allows us to meet the requirements of Second Harvest and the USDA from whom we receive most of our food

2. It allows working folks and students time to come and receive food.

3. It opens up a time for working men and women and families (especially from our congregation) to volunteer their time once a month in the pantry.

4. It gives us an opportunity to talk with the clients and get to know them and refer them to other agencies that may be able to help them.

5. It will relieve the earlier workers, many who have spent from 4 to 8 hours working there already. Also it will require less volunteers on that shift.
